2. Why we process it

To create and verify your account, give you access to what you bought, collect payment and issue invoices.

To calculate and pay out inventors' earnings.

To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and detect content violations.

To meet our legal retention and reporting obligations.

3. AI-assisted prior-art screening

When an invention is submitted for publication, an automated screening checks whether a similar invention has already been patented.

During this screening the invention's title and public teaser are sent to Anthropic (Claude) and to the European Patent Office (EPO). Locked-section content is NOT included in the patent search.

The result is reported only to ICATGO administrators. It is not shown to other users and is never on its own the reason for a decision.

4. AI-assisted translation

Once your invention is published, it is translated automatically so it can be shown in the other languages the platform supports.

During translation your invention texts are sent to Anthropic (Claude). Unlike the prior-art screening, translation DOES include locked-section content - otherwise a foreign buyer could not read what they paid for.

The text sent is used only to produce the translation. The result is stored in the ICATGO database and follows exactly the same access rules as the source: the translation of a locked section is released only to users who bought that section.

As the inventor you can review and correct the automatic translation from your panel. Text you edit is never overwritten by the automatic translation again.

5. Who we share it with

Payment institution: iyzico Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş. — to take and verify payment.

Our hosting and email providers — to run the platform and send notifications.

Anthropic and the European Patent Office — within the screening and translation described above.

Competent public authorities — only upon a lawful request and limited to its scope.

We do not sell your data to any third party for advertising.

6. Retention

Account and invention data are kept for as long as your account is open.

Payment, invoice and accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by Turkish tax and commercial law.

When you delete your account, data not subject to a legal retention obligation is deleted; purchase records are anonymised and retained for accounting.

7. Security

Passwords are stored irreversibly and cannot be read by anyone.

All site traffic travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).

Locked content does not even enter the database query until access rights have been verified.

Card details are never present in ICATGO systems at any stage.
